The new 3 Doors Down album is called Away from the Sun, but it
might as well be called A Dozen Reasons Why "Kryptonite" Will Still Be the
Encore. Still, the Mississippi modern-rock group who turned Superman's
weakness into a massive radio hit have no reason to be feeling
dark-side-of-the-moonish these days, with their new album cracking the Top 40
and a number-one hit at mainstream rock radio with "When I'm Gone." Currently
out on tour with Theory of a Dead Man, whose Roadrunner debut was
co-written and produced by that insufferable singer from Nickelback, 3 Doors
Down play two shows at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel (401-272-5876) in Providence
this week -- Saturday's show sold out in advance, prompting the addition of
another on Tuesday. |
