Les Mayfield’s painfully unfunny comedy involves a case of mistaken identity so stupid, you feel bad for the actors. Family man Eugene Levy is mistaken for an undercover cop by some crooks and has to impersonate "the man" until real cop Samuel L. Jackson can arrest the bad guys. Good movies have been made from less, but this crass, mean effort is not one of them. It’s a two-man show, and neither Levy nor Jackson generates anything resembling chemistry. Levy is simply annoying; Jackson is angry for no discernible reason, and unnecessarily cruel. (The "jokes" are mostly based on his yelling at or hitting people.) I don’t know why the character is mad, but I think the actor should be directing that anger toward his agent.
