Ah, October: the Sox are in the playoffs, the Pats are steamrolling hapless opponents, the leaves are changing, pumpkins, Halloween decora . . . BEER! That’s right — it’s Oktoberfest time, kiddies. Yeah, we too were hoping to take two weeks off to go to Munich, but
HARVARD SQUARE’S OKTOBERFEST
, now in its 29th year, ain’t bad consolation: “six stages of live entertainment, music, dance, art, street performers and 200+ stalls of artisans and merchants.” The Car Talk guys will be there; the “activist street bands” of Honk! will be parading through (see “Xtra!”, page TK); there’s going to be some sort of “peace in” (?); and, of course, there will be beer gardens.
